Salad Base

Method

Prepare the Salad

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Lettuce

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water. Shake off excess water and chop it into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare Croutons

If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), cut bread into cubes, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and bake until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Grate Parmesan Cheese

Grate the Parmesan cheese (if not pre-grated) and set aside.

Make the Dressing

  1. 4

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 5

    Whisk Until Smooth

Whisk the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and emulsified.

  3. 6

    Add Grated Parmesan

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese into the dressing, mixing well.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce. Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss gently to coat.

  2. 8

    Add Croutons and Parmesan

Sprinkle the croutons and remaining grated Parmesan cheese on top of the salad.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately as a side or a main dish. Enjoy!
