Pizza Dough

Method

Prepare the Pizza Dough

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (110°F or 43°C) with the sugar and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough begins to form.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Assemble the Pizza

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 6

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll out the dough into your desired pizza shape (round or rectangular) to about 1/4 inch thickness.

  3. 7

    Add BBQ Sauce

Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.

  4. 8

    Add Toppings

Evenly distribute the shredded grilled chicken, sliced red onions, and shredded mozzarella cheese over the BBQ sauce. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro on top.

Bake the Pizza

  1. 9

    Transfer to Oven

Carefully transfer the assembled pizza onto a pizza stone or baking sheet.

  2. 10

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  3. 11

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve warm.
