Churros Dough

Method

Churros Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water and Butter

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from the heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth.

  4. 4

    Add Cinnamon

Stir in the ground cinnamon until fully incorporated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Heat Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

  2. 6

    Melt Chocolate

Remove from heat and add the semisweet chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the sauce is smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix well.

Frying

  1. 7

    Heat Oil

In a large, deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 8

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.

  3. 9

    Fry Churros

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 10

    Coat in Sugar

While still warm, roll the churros in the mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon until fully coated.
