Salmon Preparation

Side Dishes

Method

Salmon Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix bourbon, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Stir until combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Grilling the Salmon

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Oil the Grill

Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

  3. 5

    Grill the Salmon

Remove the salmon from the marinade and place them skin-side down on the grill. Grill for about 4-6 minutes per side, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Boil the baby potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 7

    Sauté the Asparagus

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute, then add the asparagus. Cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drizzle with fresh lemon juice.

  3. 8

    Serve the Potatoes

Toss the boiled potatoes with butter, salt, and pepper to taste.

Serving the Dish

  1. 9

    Plate the Meal

Place a grilled salmon fillet on each plate, along with a serving of sautéed asparagus and seasoned baby potatoes.

  2. 10

    Garnish and Enjoy

Garnish the salmon with fresh herbs if desired and serve immediately.
