Method
Gravy Preparation
- 1
Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage. Cook until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to break it up as it cooks.
- 2
Make the Roux
Once the sausage is cooked, sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the sausage. Stir well to combine and cook for about 1-2 minutes to create a roux, which helps thicken the gravy.
- 3
Add Milk and Seasonings
Slowly pour in the milk while continuously stirring to prevent lumps. Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Continue stirring until the gravy thickens, about 5-10 minutes.

Serve the Haystack
Once the gravy is ready, split the warm biscuits in half. Spoon a generous amount of sausage gravy over the biscuits. Serve hot and enjoy!
