Method
Baking the Buns
- 1
Prepare the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the Buns
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into three equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round bun.
- 6
Second Rise
Place the shaped buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- 7
Preheat Oven
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 8
Bake
Sprinkle sea salt on top of the buns and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
