Hummus

Pita Bread

Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, garlic cloves (peeled), lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.

  3. 3

    Blend Until Smooth

Process the ingredients on high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. If the hummus is too thick, add a little more water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.

  4. 4

    Taste and Adjust Seasoning

Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice according to your preference.

  5. 5

    Serve

Transfer the hummus to a serving dish, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika on top for garnish.

Pita Bread Preparation

  1. 6

    Warm the Pita Bread

If desired, warm the pita bread in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes, or until soft and warm.

  2. 7

    Cut for Serving

Cut the warm pita bread into halves or quarters for easy dipping.
