Method

Preparing the Crab

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, fill with water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil.

  2. 2

    Cook the Crab

Carefully add the fresh crab to the boiling water. Cover the pot and let it boil for about 10-15 minutes, depending on the size of the crab. The crab is done when it turns a bright orange color.

  3. 3

    Drain and Cool

Once cooked, carefully remove the crab from the pot and place it in a colander to drain. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before cracking.

  4. 4

    Serve

Serve the crab hot with lemon wedges on the side.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 5

    Prepare Corn on the Cob

Bring a separate pot of water to a boil. Add the corn on the cob and boil for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Remove and drain.

  2. 6

    Make Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine prepared coleslaw mix with dressing of your choice. Toss well to combine and refrigerate until ready to serve.

  3. 7

    Prepare Garlic Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the loaf of garlic bread in half, spread with butter and garlic, and bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
