Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 tsp of salt, 0.5 tsp of black pepper, and 0.5 tsp of garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burger Patty

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan or Grill

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Prepare the Tomato

While the patties are cooking, wash and slice the medium tomato into thick slices.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Lettuce

Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Set aside.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast the Buns (Optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Build Your Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer the cooked patty with melted cheese, followed by lettuce leaves, and tomato slices. Add ketchup and mustard to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.
