Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Patty Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing during cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until they reach a safe internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Slaw Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and grated carrot.

  2. 5

    Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 6

    Combine Slaw and Dressing

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture and toss until well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Remoulade Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix Remoulade Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped capers, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a layer of Bibb lettuce. Add a cooked burger patty on top, followed by a generous spoonful of slaw and a drizzle of remoulade. Top with the other half of the bun.
