Beef Patty

Cheeseburger Assembly

Method

Beef Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for an additional 3 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.

Assembling the Cheeseburger

  1. 6

    Toast Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, and then slices of tomato.

  3. 8

    Add Condiments

Top the tomato with ketchup and mustard as per your taste, then close the burger with the top half of the bun.
