Preparation of Topping

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

Prepare the Basil
Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

Add Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.

Season the Mixture
Drizzle the balsamic vinegar and olive oil over the mixture. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Gently stir to combine all ingredients.

Let it Marinate
Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
Preparing the Bread

Slice the Bread
Cut the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to broil. Place the slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

Top the Bread
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously over each slice.

Serve Immediately
Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is warm, optionally drizzling with extra balsamic vinegar if desired.
