Crispy Fried Brussels Sprouts
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts
Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow outer leaves. Cut them in half lengthwise.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, house spice rub, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Coat the Brussels Sprouts
Dredge the halved Brussels sprouts in the batter mixture, making sure they are evenly coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Brussels Sprouts
Fry the coated Brussels sprouts in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Prepare the Lemon Aioli
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and minced garlic until well combined.
- 7
Serve
Serve the crispy fried Brussels sprouts hot, accompanied by the lemon aioli for dipping.
