Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rinse the baby back ribs under cold water and pat dry. Rub the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Bake the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover with another piece of foil and bake for about 2.5 hours, or until the ribs are tender.

  3. 3

    Make the Guava Glaze

While the ribs are baking, prepare the guava glaze. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine guava paste, soy sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic. Stir until the guava paste is melted and the mixture is well combined. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. 4

    Glaze the Ribs

Once the ribs are cooked, remove them from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the guava glaze generously over the ribs.

  5. 5

    Finish Cooking

Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Return the ribs to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, basting with more glaze halfway through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, and then slice between the bones. Serve with extra guava glaze on the side.
