SPECIALTY SANDOS

Method

SPECIALTY SANDOS

  1. 1

    Prep ingredients

Rinse lettuce leaves. Slice tomato into rounds (use half a tomato). Thinly slice red onion. Cut avocado in half, remove pit, scoop or slice the flesh into thin slices. Set all ingredients aside for assembly.

  2. 2

    Toast bread

Lightly toast the sourdough bread slices until golden brown and crisp to add texture.

  3. 3

    Spread mayo

Spread about 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.

  4. 4

    Assemble first layer

On one bread slice, lay down the turkey breast slices and place the jack cheese on top to help with slight melting if desired.

  5. 5

    Add avocado and vegetables

Top with avocado slices, followed by lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and red onion slices for crunch and flavor.

  6. 6

    Close and finish

Top with the second bread slice, mayo side down. Press gently, then slice the sandwich in half on a diagonal. Serve immediately.

  7. 7

    Optional melted cheese

If you prefer melted cheese, warm the assembled sandwich in a skillet over medium heat for 1–2 minutes per side until cheese just starts to melt.
