Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Boil the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Reserve a cup of pasta water for later use if needed.
Chicken Preparation
- 3
Prepare the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Heat olive oil in a grill pan over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and juices run clear. Remove from heat and let rest.
- 5
Slice the Chicken
Once rested, slice the chicken into strips.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 6
Melt the Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the stick of butter.
- 7
Add Cream and Garlic
Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, pour in the heavy cream and stir well.
- 8
Add Cheese and Seasonings
Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
