Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Grill the Ribeye Steak

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper to taste. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness (medium-rare is recommended at 130-135°F). Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Hoagie Roll

While the steak is resting, slice the hoagie roll in half. Optionally, you can toast the hoagie roll on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown. This adds extra flavor and texture.

  3. 3

    Melt the Provolone

Once the hoagie roll is toasted, place the provolone cheese on the bottom half of the roll. Warm it slightly on the grill or under a broiler for about 1-2 minutes until melted.

  4. 4

    Add Steak and Sauce

Slice the rested ribeye steak against the grain into thin strips. Layer the sliced steak on top of the melted provolone cheese. Drizzle the house steak sauce over the steak, then place the top half of the hoagie roll over the sandwich.

Caramelized Onions Preparation

  1. 5

    Caramelize the Onions

Slice the onion into thin strips. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions, salt, and sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. If they start to brown too quickly, reduce the heat to low.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Once the onions are caramelized, layer them on top of the sliced ribeye steak in the hoagie sandwich. Ensure the onions cover the steak evenly for maximum flavor.
