Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (110°F) with sugar and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape Bread

After the first rise, punch the dough down and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Bake Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare Garlic Butter

While the bread is baking, melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 9

    Add Parsley and Salt

Stir in chopped parsley and salt into the garlic butter. Remove from heat and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 10

    Slice Bread

Once the bread is baked and slightly cooled, slice it into thick pieces.

  2. 11

    Spread Garlic Butter

Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over each slice of bread.

  3. 12

    Serve

Serve warm and enjoy your homemade garlic bread!
