Cake Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Add Boiling Water
Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin.

Pour Batter
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.

Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool Cakes
Remove cakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Chocolate Ganache Preparation

Heat Cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.

Add Chocolate Chips
Remove the pan from heat and add the chocolate chips. Let it sit for a few minutes to melt.

Stir Ganache
Stir the mixture until the chocolate is fully melted and the ganache is smooth.

Cool Ganache
Allow the ganache to cool slightly before using it to frost the cake.
Assembly

Frost the Cake
Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of ganache on top, then place the second layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining ganache.

Slice the cake and serve it at room temperature.
