For the Buffalo Wings

Method

Preparing the Buffalo Wings

  1. 1

    Prep the Chicken Wings

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry using paper towels. This helps to ensure they crisp up nicely when fried.

  2. 2

    Season the Wings

In a large bowl, mix the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature for accuracy.

  4. 4

    Fry the Wings

Carefully add the chicken wings to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 8-10 minutes or until the wings are golden brown and crispy. Remove the wings and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the hot sauce and stir well to combine. Allow the sauce to heat through, then remove from heat.

  6. 6

    Coat the Wings

In a large bowl, add the fried wings and pour the hot sauce mixture over them. Toss the wings until they are well coated in the sauce.

Preparing the Blue Cheese Dip

  1. 7

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the crumbled blue cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  2. 8

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the dip and adjust the salt and pepper as needed. You can add more lemon juice if you prefer a tangier flavor.

  3. 9

    Chill

Cover the dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together.
