Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ground Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions (each about 8 oz) and shape them into burger patties, approximately 4 oz each. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 3

    Fry the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped smoked bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Cook the Patties

  1. 4

    Grill the Patties

Preheat a grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side.

  2. 5

    Add Cheese

Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Prepare the Smoky Garlic Mayo

  1. 6

    Mix the Mayo

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Stir until well blended.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a generous amount of smoky garlic mayo on both halves of the toasted buns. Place one cheese-topped patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with crispy bacon and a handful of peppadew peppers. Finally, place the top half of the bun on each burger.

Serve
