Prepare the Patties

Mix the Ground Beef
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions (each about 8 oz) and shape them into burger patties, approximately 4 oz each. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Add Cheese
Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.
Prepare the Smoky Garlic Mayo

Mix the Mayo
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Stir until well blended.
Assemble the Burger

Prepare the Buns
Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

Layer the Ingredients
Spread a generous amount of smoky garlic mayo on both halves of the toasted buns. Place one cheese-topped patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with crispy bacon and a handful of peppadew peppers. Finally, place the top half of the bun on each burger.
