Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine and form two equal-sized patties (4 oz each). Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place the bleu cheese on top of each patty to melt.

Candied Bacon

  1. 3

    Prepare the Candied Bacon

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, mix brown sugar and maple syrup. Coat each slice of bacon with the mixture and lay them out on the prepared baking sheet.

  2. 4

    Bake the Bacon

Bake the bacon in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until crispy and caramelized, flipping halfway through. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Toppings

Wash and dry the butter lettuce. Slice the red onion thinly. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, scoop out the flesh, and mash it in a bowl with truffle oil and a pinch of salt to create the avocado truffle mayo.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On a toasted bun, layer the butter lettuce, followed by the patty with melted bleu cheese, candied bacon, sliced red onion, and house-made pickles. Finally, spread the avocado truffle mayo on the top bun before placing it on the burger.
