Fries

Method

Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Preparing the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin, wavy shapes to create the side-winder effect. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Frying the Potatoes

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add the potatoes to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Seasoning the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt, paprika, and garlic powder to taste. Toss gently to coat.
