Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking.

Making the Fondant
- 3
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) and let it melt, stirring occasionally until smooth.
- 4
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until the mixture becomes pale and slightly thickened.
- 5
- 6
Add Flour and Vanilla
Sift the all-purpose flour into the chocolate mixture and add the vanilla extract. Gently fold the flour into the mixture until just combined.
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
Baking
- 8
Bake the Fondant
Place the filled ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. The edges should be set but the center should remain soft and gooey.

Serve Warm
Remove the fondants from the oven and let them sit for 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around the edges to loosen them, then invert onto serving plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
