Ice Cream or Sorbet Base

Prepare Ice Cream Base
In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is fully dissolved. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Prepare Sorbet Base (if making sorbet)
Blend fresh fruit in a blender until smooth. In a separate bowl, mix the fruit puree with sugar (to taste) and a small amount of lemon juice. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Churn Ice Cream/Sorbet
Pour the chilled ice cream base into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. For sorbet, mix the chilled fruit puree in the ice cream maker until it is smooth and creamy.

Freeze
Transfer the churned ice cream or sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours until firm.

Scoop 3 scoops of your choice of ice cream or sorbet into a bowl or cone, and enjoy!
