Preparation Steps
- 1
Brown the Butter
In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring often, until the butter turns a golden brown color and develops a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
- 2
Melt Marshmallows
Once the butter is browned, reduce the heat to low and add the mini marshmallows, stirring continuously until completely melted and smooth.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Then, gently fold in the rice cereal until well coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- 4
Press into Pan
Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Transfer the rice crispy mixture into the prepared pan, pressing it down evenly with a spatula or your hands.
- 5
Cool and Cut
Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut into squares or rectangles and enjoy!
