Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal patties, each weighing approximately 1/2 pound.

  2. 2

    Cook the Burger

Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood smoked bacon until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

Bourbon Sauce

  1. 4

    Make the Bourbon Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and let cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

In a separate skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the brioche buns and toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the toasted brioche bun, place a beef patty, top with a slice of cheddar cheese, two slices of crispy bacon, a generous drizzle of bourbon sauce, and a handful of crispy onion strings. Finish with the top half of the bun.
