Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Red Pepper Onion Jam
Chop the red bell pepper and onion. In a saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped pepper and onion, cooking until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Once soft, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for another 10 minutes. Set aside.
- 2
Sauté the Mushrooms
In a skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside.
- 3
Prepare the Burgers
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- 4
Add Cheese and Assemble
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Caprino cheese on each burger patty to melt. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in the skillet until golden. Assemble the burgers by placing the patty with melted cheese on the bottom bun, adding a generous spoonful of red pepper onion jam, sautéed mushrooms, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
