Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Onions
Slice the large onion into thin rings. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add the sliced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- 2
Cook the Bacon (optional)
If using bacon, cook the slices in a separate skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.
- 3
Cook the Burger Patties
In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into two equal-sized patties. In the same skillet used for the onions, add a little more butter if needed and cook the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Grill the Toast
In a separate skillet, place the buttered side of the Texas toast down and toast until golden brown. Flip, and then add the burger patties with melted cheese and caramelized onions on top of one slice of toast. If using, add the crispy bacon on top of the onions. Top with another slice of toast, buttered side up.
