Tea Base

Method

Tea Base

1

Boil water and aromatics

Combine 3 cups water, sliced ginger (if using) and crushed cardamom pods in a small saucepan. Bring to a rolling simmer over medium-high heat.

2

Brew tea

Once simmering, add 2 tsp loose black tea (or 2 black tea bags). Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 3–4 minutes for standard strength, or 5 minutes for stronger tea.

3

After steeping, remove from heat and strain tea through a fine mesh sieve into a heatproof container to remove tea leaves and aromatics.

Milk & Sweetener

4

Heat milk

Return the strained tea to the saucepan and add 1 cup milk. Warm over medium heat until just below simmer—small bubbles will form around the edges but do not let it boil (about 2–3 minutes).

5

Sweeten and flavor

Stir in 2 tsp sugar (or alternative sweetener) and 1 tsp vanilla extract (if using). Taste and adjust sweetness as desired. If using a cinnamon stick instead of ground cinnamon, add it now and simmer 1 minute more to infuse.

Finishing & Serve

6

Remove from heat. If you used a cinnamon stick, fish it out. Pour the Capresso Tea into cups through a small strainer to catch any remaining solids.

7

Sprinkle a light dusting (about 1/4 tsp) of ground cinnamon on top if desired. Serve immediately.
