Fries Ingredients

Method

Frying Directions

  1. 1

    Prep the Potatoes

Peel the Russet potatoes and cut them into evenly sized sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the soaked and dried potato sticks to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-6 minutes per batch.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries using a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika while still hot.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
