Brisket Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Trim excess fat from the brisket and pat it dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, combine kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this seasoning mix all over the brisket, ensuring it's evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Soak the wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes before using.

  4. 4

    Smoke the Brisket

Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up. Add the soaked wood chips to the smoker box or directly onto the coals. Close the lid and smoke for about 10 hours, maintaining a consistent temperature.

  5. 5

    Add Beef Broth

After 5 hours of smoking, carefully add beef broth to the smoker to keep the brisket moist.

  6. 6

    Rest the Brisket

Once the internal temperature of the brisket reaches 195°F (90°C), remove it from the smoker and wrap it in foil. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Slice and Serve

Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
