Method
Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
Wet Mixture
Combine Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
Combine Mixtures
Combine Dry and Wet Mixtures
Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Add Flavoring
Stir in the rose water until fully incorporated.
Baking
Pour and Bake
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool the Cakes
Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
Make the Frosting
In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened unsalted butter and powdered sugar until creamy. If needed, add a splash of milk to achieve desired consistency.
Frost the Cake
Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate, spread a layer of frosting, then top with the second layer and frost the top and sides.
