Using the matcha whisk (chasen), whisk the matcha and water together in a zig-zag motion until it becomes frothy and well combined. This should take about 1-2 minutes.

In a saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium heat until it is hot but not boiling. Stir occasionally to prevent scalding.

If you have a milk frother, you can froth the heated milk until it becomes creamy and a bit frothy. If you don’t have a frother, you can use a whisk to vigorously whisk the milk until it foams slightly.
