Measure the Coffee Beans
Using a kitchen scale or measuring cup, measure out 0.5 cups of light roast coffee beans.

Grind the Coffee Beans
Grind the light roast coffee beans using a coffee grinder until they reach a medium-coarse consistency, similar to sea salt.

Measure the Water
In a separate measuring cup, measure 2 cups of filtered water.
Brewing

Heat the Water
Pour the measured 2 cups of filtered water into a kettle and heat it until it reaches just below boiling point (around 200°F or 93°C).

Place the ground coffee into the coffee maker's filter basket or a French press.

Pour the hot water over the coffee grounds evenly. If using a drip coffee maker, start the brewing process. If using a French press, let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes before pressing down the plunger.
