Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all ingredients: North Country ham, eggs, Gruyere cheese, brioche bread, salt, black pepper, and butter.

  2. 2

    Grate the Cheese

Using a cheese grater, grate the Gruyere cheese and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Ham

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the slices of North Country ham and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until heated through and slightly crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Eggs

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter. Crack the eggs into the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Cook sunny-side up or to your desired doneness, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the skillet.

  3. 5

    Toast the Brioche

In the same skillet, place the brioche slices and toast them for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  4. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

On one slice of toasted brioche, place a slice of ham, followed by a cooked egg, and then sprinkle with a generous amount of grated Gruyere cheese. Top with another slice of toasted brioche.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Sandwich

Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve immediately while warm.
