Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast is activated, pour it into the flour mixture along with the olive oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 6

    Prepare Baking Pan

Grease a baking sheet or a 9x13 inch pan with olive oil.

  2. 7

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto the prepared baking sheet. Use your fingers to gently stretch and press the dough to fit the pan.

  3. 8

    Second Rise

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise again for about 20-30 minutes.

  4. 9

    Add Toppings

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Once the dough has risen, drizzle the remaining olive oil over the top, sprinkle with sea salt, fresh rosemary, and scatter cherry tomatoes on top.

  5. 10

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
