Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it's hot enough to bake the cookies evenly.
- 2
Mix dry ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cream butter and sugars
In another bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
- 5
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 6
Fold in chocolate chips
Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon until evenly distributed.
Baking
- 7
Prepare baking sheets
Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking.
- 8
Scoop dough
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
- 9
Bake cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is still soft.
- 10
Cool cookies
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
