Herbal Infused Oils
Method
Preparation of Herbal Infused Oils
- 1
Infuse the Oils
In a double boiler, combine coconut oil and sesame oil. Add lavender, chamomile, rosemary, and calendula. Heat gently for 1-2 hours, ensuring the water does not boil away. Strain the herbs and allow the oil to cool.
- 2
Add Essential Oils
Once the herbal oil has cooled, add sandalwood and frankincense essential oils. Mix well and transfer to a clean, dark glass bottle for storage.
Massage Technique
- 3
Warm the Oils
Before the massage, warm the herbal infused oil in a bowl placed in hot water, ensuring it’s a comfortable temperature for the skin.
- 4
Perform the Massage
Using long, smooth strokes characteristic of Swedish massage, apply the warmed oil to the body. Focus on areas of tension and use kneading motions to promote relaxation.
- 5
Finish with Relaxation
Conclude the massage with gentle effleurage strokes and allow the client to relax for a few moments before wiping off excess oil.
