Balyage Technique Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a bowl, mix the lightening powder with the developer until you achieve a smooth consistency. Add the color sealant and mix well.

  2. 2

    Section the Hair

Divide the hair into sections using clips. Start with the back sections and work your way to the front.

  3. 3

    Apply the Lightening Mixture

Using a brush, apply the lightening mixture to the mid-lengths and ends of the hair, leaving out the roots for a natural look. Use a sweeping motion to create a gradient effect.

  4. 4

    Processing Time

Allow the lightener to process according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically around 30-45 minutes.

  5. 5

    Rinse and Tone

Once the desired lift is achieved, rinse the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow with toning shampoo and conditioner to neutralize any unwanted tones.
