Pickle Fries
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Pickles
Dip each pickle into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Serve
Serve the pickle fries hot, accompanied by house-made ranch dressing.
