For the Caramel Apple Crisp
Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Apples
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel, core, and slice the Granny Smith apples. Place them in a large bowl and mix with 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- 2
Make the Crisp Topping
In a separate bowl, combine the remaining brown sugar, oats, flour, salt, and cinnamon. Melt the butter and mix it into the dry ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
- 3
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- 4
Prepare the Caramel Sauce
While the crisp is baking, prepare your homemade caramel sauce, or warm store-bought caramel if desired.
- 5
Serve
Once the crisp is done, remove it from the oven. Serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel sauce, and dusted with powdered sugar.
