Chili Ingredients

Method

Chili Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Trim excess fat from the brisket and cut it into small cubes.

  2. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  3. 3

    Brown the Brisket

Add the brisket cubes to the pot and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Spices and Tomatoes

Stir in smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and cumin. Mix well and then add the diced tomatoes, including their juice.

  5. 5

    Simmer the Chili

Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the brisket is tender.

  6. 6

    Season to Taste

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Ladle the chili into bowls and top with diced red onion and shredded cheddar cheese.
