Bread Pudding
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Add in the golden raisins, chopped pecans, and bourbon. Gently fold everything together.
- 4
Bake the Pudding
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
- 5
Prepare Bourbon Caramel Sauce
While the pudding is baking, prepare the bourbon caramel sauce by melting 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown. Carefully add 1/2 cup of heavy cream and 2 tbsp of bourbon, stirring until smooth.
- 6
Serve
Once the bread pudding is done, let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm drizzled with the bourbon caramel sauce.
