Prepare the Proteins

Cook Chicken
In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil. Add the chicken breast and season with half of the taco seasoning mix. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and no longer pink. Shred the chicken and set aside.

Cook Beef
In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula, season with the remaining taco seasoning, and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Prepare Black Beans
Rinse and drain the black beans. In a small pot, heat them over low heat until warmed through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Prepare Taco Shells

Warm Tortillas
In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable and warm. Keep them wrapped in a clean kitchen towel to stay warm.
Assemble Tacos

Build Your Taco
For each taco, take a warmed tortilla and add a portion of the chicken, beef, or black beans. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños as desired.

Serve
Serve the assembled tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side if desired.
