Method
Plantains Preparation
- 1
Peel and Slice the Plantains
Carefully peel the ripe plantains and slice them diagonally into 1-inch thick pieces.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
- 3
Fry the Plantains
Add the sliced plantains to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- 4
Drain the Plantains
Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove the plantains from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
Crema Preparation
- 5
Mix the Crema Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, milk, and lime juice. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
Assembly
- 6
Plate the Fried Plantains
Arrange the fried plantains on a serving plate in a single layer.
- 7
Drizzle with Crema
Generously drizzle the prepared crema mixture over the fried plantains.
- 8
Add Toppings
Sprinkle crumbled queso fresco on top of the plantains and, if desired, add a dusting of cinnamon for extra flavor.
