Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lamb

Trim any excess fat from the lamb shoulder and cut it into large chunks.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

Peel and chop the garlic, onion, carrots, and potatoes into bite-sized pieces.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sear the Lamb

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the lamb chunks and sear until browned on all sides. Remove the lamb and set aside.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same pot, add the chopped onions, garlic, and carrots. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the onions become translucent.

  3. 5

    Add the Seasonings

Stir in the cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cinnamon. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Return the seared lamb to the pot, add the potatoes, and pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a boil.

  5. 7

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.

Serving

  1. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Once cooked, sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving. Enjoy your Nahe warm with crusty bread or over rice.
