1. Prepare the Ingredients
Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion into rings. Set aside.

2. Cook the Beef Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 equal patties.
3. Grill the Patties
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
4. Melt the Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Toast the burger buns lightly. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the beef patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, onion rings, and pickles. Drizzle with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.
