Oysters

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Oysters

Rinse the fresh oysters under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Scrub the shells with a brush to ensure they are clean.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Broiler

Set your oven to broil and allow it to preheat for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Topping

In a bowl, mix the smoked blue cheese, brown sugar, bourbon, melted butter, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Cooking

  1. 4

Place Oysters on a Baking Sheet

Arrange the cleaned oysters on a baking sheet, cup side up, ensuring they are stable and won't tip over.

  2. 5

    Add the Topping

Spoon a small amount of the cheese mixture onto each oyster, ensuring they are well covered.

  3. 6

    Broil the Oysters

Place the baking sheet under the broiler and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  4. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the oysters from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
