Steak Tartare
Toasted Crostini
Method
Steak Tartare Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beef
Finely chop the beef tenderloin using a sharp knife. Aim for a fine mince without turning the meat into a paste.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped beef, black truffle oil, Dijon mustard, capers, shallots, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
- 3
Taste and Adjust
Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning with more salt or truffle oil if desired.
- 4
Prepare Quail Eggs
Carefully crack the quail eggs and separate the yolks from the whites, using only the yolks for the tartare.
Toasted Crostini Preparation
- 5
Slice the Baguette
Slice the French baguette into thin rounds, about 1/2 inch thick.
- 6
- 7
Toast the Crostini
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and place the slices on a baking sheet. Bake for about 5-7 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
